Ronald T. Lutz, Owner/President
Ronald T. Lutz began his career at Zerby Automotive in 2012. He brings over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry to the business. Colorado has been his home since 2009. He loves spending time with his wife Rachael and their children. When he is not working at the shop, he can be found much of the time remodeling their beautiful home. Ron enjoys snowboarding, traveling to new places and cruising in his BMW and Porsche. He has a passion for European vehicles and specializes in this market. Ron knows the importance of clear communication and Zerby’s customers appreciate his ability to assist them in understanding how we can best meet their automotive needs. Ron’s skills help to ensure that our customers receive a valuable experience with the reliable and dependable service they have come to count on.
Rachael Lutz, Owner/First Lady
Rachael Lutz wears a few different hats here at Zerby’s. She is our body shop, general manager and insurance specialist. She pays close attention to detail and has her hand in many of the general operations of the business. She began her career at the shop in March of 2017 and since that time her focus has always been to provide our customers with a positive experience and the very best service for their vehicles. Rachael moved to Fremont County from Montana in 2009 with her kids Quentin, Reese and Michaela. She and her husband Ron stay very busy remodeling their home and keeping up with their children. When she is not at work or busy remodeling their house, she just loves traveling, swimming, cooking and painting. Most of all she treasures time spent with her family!
Andrew Taylor , Service Writer
Andrew holds the position of service writer at Zerby’s. He was employed as a maintenance technician with us in 2017. He began his career in the automotive industry in 2003 as an Army Technical Technician. Andrew served our country in the Army for 14 years from 2003-2017 and was deployed to Iraq for 3.5 years. He received his automotive technician certificate from IntelliTec College in 2019 and actively continues his training as a service writer so as to best meet the needs of our customers. He was born in Phoenix, AZ but was raised and now resides in Canon City. He and his wife Elizabeth are very busy and on the go with their 2 daughters Madison and Mackenzie and sons Parker and Logan. On his off time Andrew enjoys playing soccer, woodworking, smoking meat, hiking and spending time in the great outdoors.
Rick Ulrich, ASE Master Technician
ASE Master Technician Rick Ulrich has worked been with Zerby Automotive since 2004. He has excellent diagnostic and drivability skills with both foreign and domestic vehicles. Rick has lived in Fremont County for most of his life. He and his wife Debbie were married here in 1975 and now they thoroughly enjoy their spent keeping up with their 7 busy grandchildren. On his time off Rick has many interests and hobbies to include riding and building bicycles, creating yard art out of bicycle parts, as well as restoring his VW Bug. Rick’s over 45 years of experience in the automotive industry gives our customers confidence their vehicles are in good hands that they can trust.
Austin Feyerherm, ASE Master Technician
ASE Master Technician Austin Feyerherm has been a great asset here at Zerby Automotive. He is very skilled and has advanced knowledge in diagnosing electrical systems, steering and suspension as well as motoring. Austin was born and raised in Penrose and resides there still today. He has been teaching since he graduated from high school and we are fortunate to have him on our team. He has many interests which include fishing, playing the guitar, riding motorcycles and smoking meat. He’s even arrived at the shop as early as 4 AM to smoke his delicious meat for a lunch meeting one day. Now that’s dedication for you! It’s this kind of commitment level that speaks to the quality of work customers can expect here at Zerby’s.
Pete Siegfried, ASE Certified Technician
Pete Siegfried is an ASE certified technician specializing here at Zerby’s in automotive maintenance. He began his automotive work experience in 2002 and since that time has become a skilled fabricator in the fields of welding and metalwork. He moved to Fremont County from Cincinnati, Ohio in the year 2000. He and his wife Kelly were married in 2002 and they have one daughter. Pete values his time with his family. Pete continues to grow in his knowledge in the automotive industry. His attention to detail is one more reason our customers can trust their vehicles are in good hands at Zerby Automotive.
Aaron Lucero, Body Shop Painter
Aaron Lucero joined the Zerby Automotive team in 2020. He is a skilled painter in our body shop. He is also trained as a body technician, frame specialist and I-Car certified. He is originally from Las Animas, Colorado and now resides in Pueblo West. Aaron is engaged to be married to his fiancee Marcey. Golfing, jet-skiing and boating, going to the movies, playing video games, and working on his house and yard keep this young man busy during his time away from work. We are pleased to have him working to bring our customers the best in paint and body repair.
James Harvey, Body Shop Manager
James Harvey began working at Zerby Automotive in 2019. He is unique to the automotive industry in that he is trained as both an Automotive Repair and a Body Technician, both very valuable skill sets. James serves as the Body Shop Manager here at Zerby’s. He is originally from Lake Havasu City, Arizona and currently resides in Penrose. When asked what his specialties were James said, “I fix things that need fixing!”, and that pretty much describes James’ get ‘er done attitude towards his life on and off the job. He and his wife Jess love growing food together. He stays active playing pool, shooting, fishing making beer and smoking meat. He is our First Annual Meat Smoking Contest Winner and we look forward to many more to come. Customers can trust the leader of our Paint and Body team to get the job done right!
Walker Hill, Technician
Walker Hill began working at Zerby Automotive in April of 2019 while he was still enrolled in Pueblo Community College. He graduated in May of 2020 with two associate degrees, one in Auto Mechanics and the one in General Studies. He specializes in Subaru’s which are his favorite make of vehicles. He was born and raised in Canon City and is the middle child with one older and one younger brother. We appreciate Walker’s willingness to learn and jump in wherever there is a need. Walker had a significant role in the teardown and assembly of the Jurassic Journey Dino Tracker project that Zerby’s collaborated with the Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience. He enjoys playing soccer, going “jeeping” and radio control cars. We are fortunate to employ young people such as Walker who has chosen to pursue his career in the automotive trade.
